Background

Lake Macquarie Council, 2022

The Client conducted a PRE-DA Meeting with Council for a proposed residential multi-dwelling development. Councils PRE-DA assessment required the following for development application submission:

• The access road is to be widened

• Stormwater management plan

• Erosion sediment control plan

The Problem

The PRE-DA assessment was written vaguely on how the road should be widened and its extent. Furthermore, parts of the existing road work were located within a different private property.

Our Solution

To navigate the PRE-DA Assessment, AMUNA took on the responsibility of speaking to the Client's traffic engineer and Council Engineers to determine how Council envisaged the road widening extent and how it integrated with the private property.

Amuna determined that the Client should arrange for an easement for road accessway. Furthermore, we managed to reduce the amount of civil work required by maintaining parts of the existing road.  

Amuna provided the following services:

• Designed and created a 3d model of the proposed road widening, which included a kerb return, shoulder & batter. We were then able to generate a civil design output involving plans, cross sections and long-sections.

• Designed a stormwater management plan. Including integrated On-site detention and rainwater reuse system.

• Developed an erosion and sediment control plan.
