FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT

A new restaurant was being proposed within Manly Corso, which is located in a flood-affected area. AMUNA was engaged to lower the floor level for the proposed development.

Background

Northern Beaches Council, 2022

The proposed commercial development was located within a flood zone, and the development required a flood risk management plan for Development application submission. As a result, the Client engaged AMUNA.

The Problem

The Client wanted to lower the existing floor level for the proposed development in a flood-affected area and didn't know if it was achievable.

Our Solution

After reviewing the development's flood data and Council's flood controls. AMUNA established that parts of the site could be lowered. However, we also noticed that the flood controls contradicted each other. Consequently, we took on the responsibility of speaking with Council flood engineers to resolve the matter. As a result, we were confident that we could lower the development’s floor level, which ultimately gave the Client a desirable outcome.

Amuna provided the following services:

  • Flood Risk Management

  • Emergency Response Plan

Was it approved? Yes.

  • Excellent service and prompt turnaround on a tight deadline. Approved through council without an issue. I’d recommend Stuart.
